Istanbul – Where East Meets West

Istanbul is Turkey’s largest city and its cultural and financial heart. Straddling both Asia and Europe across the Bosphorus, it is a city where history and modern life beautifully merge.

The historic center, Sultanahmet, is home to iconic landmarks like Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, Blue Mosque, and the Basilica Cistern. Across the Golden Horn, Galata Tower overlooks vibrant Karaköy, filled with cafés, galleries, and nightlife.

On the Asian side, Kadıköy and Üsküdar charm visitors with picturesque neighborhoods and Bosphorus views. Don’t miss the Maiden’s Tower and the breathtaking panorama from Çamlıca Hill.

Visa Requirements

Many visitors can easily obtain a visa online via www.evisa.gov.tr. EU Schengen and UK passport holders generally don’t need a visa for short stays (up to 90 days in 180 days).

For others, the e-visa cost ranges from 30 to 60 USD, depending on nationality. Always check the official website for updated rules and avoid third-party websites that may charge extra fees.

Getting Around Istanbul

Istanbul has an extensive public transport network: metros, trams, buses, and ferries. Get an Istanbulkart—a reusable transport card that works on almost all public transport and saves you money after just a few rides.

Use Google Maps or the Trafi app for real-time navigation. For the best views, hop on a Bosphorus ferry—fast, affordable, and scenic!
